History




1.10.1961 year - Ministerstwo Górnictwa i Energetyki (The Ministry of Mining and Energy) appoints Zasadnicza Szkoła Zawodowa dla Pracujących (the Basic Polytechnic School for People Working ) in the "Glinik" factory in Gorlice, Poland (the factory of mining and drilling equipment). Franciszek Szydło becomes the organizer and the long standing manager of the school.

1962 - the school workshop was created by its manager Antoni Ginalski. The first workshop rooms are in a barrack near Michalusa street, and the surface which it occupied carried out 171 square metres. 80 pupils learned at school then.

The first half of the 60's - the number of pupils grows up to 240, and training includes three divisions: turner, miller and locksmith. The moving of the workshop to the hall of rotary tools on the ground of the factory and adopting the surface of 1400 square metres for the needs of training, was the success of the time management.

1963/1964 - teaching is held in the Zespół Szkół Nr 1 building (another polytechnic school in Gorlice).

1964/1965 - teaching takes place in rooms of Szkoła Podstawowa No.3 (The Elementary School No.3 in Gorlice), and till holidays 1972 at The Elementary School No.2 buildings.

1.09.1971 - the school receives especially designed building, in which it has existed up till now.

From 1972 to 1976 - the dynamic development of the "Glinik" factory causes large demand on qualified personnel which contributes to considerable enlargement of recruitment of youth to the school and it is particularly profitable period in history of the school.

1.09.1975 - Technikum Zawodowe dla Pracujących (The Secondary Polytechnic School for Working People) is created. In support of the material base of the "Glinik" factory, branches of Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow and Engineering College in Rzeszow also begin their activity.

The beginning of the 80's - the school along with the workshop approaches to The contest about the best school in practical training, organized by Ministerstwo Górnictwa i Energetyki (The Ministry of Mining and Energy). And so, in 1985 wins the second, in 1986 the third, and in 1989 year first place on the central grade. In this period the school headmaster is inz. Kazimierz Złotek (M.E.), and the workshop manager is inz. Władysław Przybyłowicz (M.E.).

1991 year - the school workshop, except vocational education, is the direct producer of products for industry and it functions as the independent division of the "Glinik S.A." Factory.

1.09.1983 - Liceum Zawodowe (the Vocational High School) begins its activity, educating the mechanics of industrial automatics and precise devices. The school functions under the name of: Zespół Szkół Zawodowych Fabryki Maszyn Wiertniczych i Górniczych "Glinik".(The Team of Vocational Schools of "Glinik" Factory)

15.06.1984 - the school gets the name of Wincenty Pol and the occasion is honoured by the presence of Adam Pol - the only living descendant of the great writer Wincenty Pol.

1.09.1993 - the school along with the whole material base is passed under the supervision of Kuratorium Oświaty (the Educational Department) and it receives the name: Zespół Szkół Technicznych (The Team of Polytechnic Schools). It comprised then: 23 classes of Zasadnicza Szkoła Zawodowa ( The Basic Polytechnic School), 2 classes of Liceum Zawodowego (The Vocational High School), 3 classes of Mechaniczne Technikum ( The Polytechnik Secondary School) as well as 4 class of Technikum Mechaniczne dla Pracujących (The Polytechnic Secondary School for Working People) .

1998/1999 - The Grammar School is started (general profile). Simultaneously, to make it possible for youth to continue education after secondary school the after graduation college of science was appointed and it was 3 - semester Zawodowe Studium (The Vocational College) with the profile of Technician of Safety and Hygiene of Work.

From 1.09.1997 to 31.08.2001 - the headmistress of Zespół Szkół Technicznych was mgr Anna Chruściel (M.A.).

Since 1.09.2001 - the headmistress of Zespół Szkół Technicznych has been mgr Renata Stępień (M.A.).
